The business is a long established family business which has been travelling to various locations within Ireland for over seven decades, some of these locations have been high profile and prestigious with the company enjoying working alongside various councils and commissions.
The organisation itself began in 1946 by our grandfather the late Mr John Curry, with a passionate interest in engineering John went about the manufacturing of a set of swing boats in the cow shed at the back of the family farm. John had a great sense of entrepreneurship and along with his wife Joan Curry they developed what was to be a little family business into one of Ireland’s leading travelling operations. With continual reinvestment in equipment and the adaptation of best practices John was set to be the pinnacle of standards for other fairground operators to follow and achieve.
His camaraderie spirit and wisdom was passed on to his children and grandchildren alike. It is now our duty to remember our humble beginnings and to build this business to the heights and aspirations of what our grandparents set out to achieve. Curry’s Amusements is currently made up of a group of family based companies, with each member of the family having different responsibilities and assets.
In the past year as a collective family business we have continued to reinvest in new equipment and ideas to enhance our already impressive collection of mechanical and non-mechanical provision. The organisation has a strong vision for the future and aims to become Ireland’s market leader in the provision of fairground family entertainment.
Over the past seven decades Curry’s Amusements have been privileged to have the opportunity to take part in events in most of the towns and cities in Ireland. We are regularly invited back year after year this we believe is due to the high-standard and quality of service we provide our clients.
All our equipment is of the highest standard and maintained by members of the family who are time served, qualified Electrical & Mechanical Engineers before being independently tested. As active members of the showman’s guild of Ireland we are fully insured and comply with the industries best practises and legal obligations as set out in ‘HSG 175’.
